Serves the Uzhhorod readers and the students of universities and secondary specialized educational institutions (according to the agreements about library services signed by the library and a relevant educational institution).

In the book funds of the department there is Ukrainian and World Fiction, the works of contemporary authors, as well as the fund of commercial literature.
The department has the Sector of Interlibrary Loan which enables readers to order literature that is absent in the funds of the library from other libraries of Ukraine.

The reference-bibliographic apparatus of the library includes:

•     The systematic catalogue of the works of fiction;
•     Index cards of the winners of literary awards;
•     The database "The Writers of Transcarpathia - the winners of literary awards".

The department carries out a massive work by popularizing the best examples of Ukrainian and world literature, it promotes the reading culture and mastering of the latest methods of independent work with the books.
Within the department functions the Club of Literary Debutes "The New Names" which invites everyone willing to show their literary skills. You can find more details on this through our VK community at http://vk.com/novi_imena.
Reviving the tradition of family reading, we welcome parents to come to the library together with their children who can discover the world of books and chose the appropriate literature.
     To everyone who is interested in modern Ukrainian fiction we offer the book exhibition "The New Wave of Ukrainian Prose" that is located on the 2nd floor of our library.
